WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

                 October 14 - 18, 2024 

  1.  It’s that time of year again to celebrate our National Lunch Challenge Week!  We are combining our lunch challenge week with your favorite coffee shop, THE NEST! So plan on coming in and joining us for lunch each day and earn a chance of winning a prize such as cookies/ZZ bars, ice cream, chips, drinks or a raffle ticket to the NEST.  We will also have a final grand prize for one student that purchases lunch every day during this week!  We will bake a pizza just for you to share with your friends.  Lunch is an important part of your day.  It consists of a balanced and appealing array of nutritious food! Our motto is: SCHOOL LUNCH PIRATES , FIND YOUR TREASURE!

  2.  The LOST AND FOUND is located in the cafeteria.  If you have misplaced something, check there!  

  3.  There is an FCCLA meeting this Thursday, October 17 after school.  Come for food & fun!

  4.  Any junior or senior interested in taking the ASVAB test, see Mrs. Bechtel this week.

  5.  The Graham High School Leadership and DECA program are hosting a cleaning product, hygiene, and food item drive in the St. Paris and Urbana Communities.  The drive starts today, October 14th and will end on November 22nd.  You may place all items in the collection boxes in Mrs. Jarzab’s room and The Nest Coffee Shop.  The Nest is offering free hot chocolate, hot coffee, or lemonade for any student who donates one of each product or 3 products in total.  The goal of this drive is to help serve those in our community who may be struggling and we need your help to accomplish this.  A BIG thank you to everyone from Graham Leadership and DECA.


  6.  The FCCLA Pumpkin Painting/Carving Competition is BACK! See Mrs. Jarzab by Wednesday, October 16th to register and pay your $10 for your pumpkin.  Pumpkins will be distributed on the 17th and need to be painted or carved by October 28th to put in the back of the cafeteria for display.  Categories for judging include individual, team, class, or teacher.  Pumpkin voting will take place in the cafeteria on October 30th and winners will be announced on October 31st!  

  7.  Clark State will be here on Wednesday, October 16th at 9:00 am.  Any junior or senior interested in speaking with this representative needs to sign up in the guidance office. 


Sports Announcements

On Saturday the Cross Country teams participated in the CBC league meet. The girls were 5th overall with some good times on our new course. Hailey Nash was the champion and CBC cross-country runner of the year for the Mad River girls. Congratulations to all of the ladies!!

On the boys side of the race, Ayden Rudolf was the champion and CBC cross-country runner of the year for Mad River. Also on the first team all CBC along with Ayden was Jack Bonham. Second-team honors went to Brayden Crooks and Daniel Bonham and special mention all CBC went to Hunter DeMarco and Braden Bost. Rounding out the boy's day was a team Championship. Congratulations gentlemen on a job well done!

Thank you to all who came to our new course on Saturday to support the runners in a tough competition, you are appreciated by the entire team and the coaches! The team will run at the district cross-country meet this weekend at Cedarville College, come support your falcon runners!

The Graham Girls Soccer  Team lost the battle against Urbana 1-5. 

The Boys Soccer team defeated Urbana 4-0. Dietrich Remhold had 2 goals, Kale Gilbert and Owen Powell each added 1 goal. The boys team knocked off Shawnee and Greenon this past week. Goals were made by several Falcons. 

The Boys Varsity Football team brought home another big win against Northwestern on Friday night. Gage Stull had 111 yards in passing. Daniel Hoke rushed for 86 yards and Adam Levy added 60 yards. On the receiving end Jack Traylor had a 39-yard touchdown and Brody Jenkins added 36 yards. Come out and support them this Friday night at home against North Union.
